6-year-old Eastern Cape boy shoots little sister

An investigation is underway into an incident where a six-year-old boy accidentally shot and wounded his five-year-old sister in Bethelsdorp in the Eastern Cape.

It’s alleged three kids were playing with a firearm in a room when a shot went off. The girl was shot in the head with a .38 revolver. She is said to be in critical condition in hospital.

Police say upon arrival at the scene, the firearm was allegedly removed and has yet to be found.

A case of defeating the ends of justice has been opened.

No arrests have yet been made.
