Zuma Loses Rescission Case

Former President Jacob Zuma’s rescission application has been dismissed by the Constitutional Court. The majority judgment found that he did not meet the requirements for rescission.

Zuma wanted the apex court to overturn his 15-month jailed sentence for contempt of court. He argued that his rights were violated as he was jailed without trial.

Last week Zuma was granted medical parole. This is being challenged in court as the National Commissioner of Correctional Services Arthur Fraser has confirmed that he overruled the recommendations of the Medical Parole Advisory Board which found Zuma to have been in a stable condition.
