The Yemeni resistance front has forced the total shutdown of the Israeli occupation’s port of Eilat which is located on the Red Sea.
The Israeli economic media outlet The Marker reports that the port will cease operations as of Sunday as the Eilat municipality froze its bank accounts due to the millions of shekels in debts.
It comes after two years of paralysis in the wake of the Yemeni Armed Force’s maritime blockade on the Israeli entity in support of Gaza. Since November 2023 shipping to Eilat collapsed and revenues plunged to 80%.
Eilat had been a key entry point for vehicles from the Far East, handling nearly half of Israel’s car imports. The Zionist regime is now scrambling to reroute trade via the Mediterranean ports — raising shipping costs and logistics pressure.
