A 34-year-old woman accused of being involved in human trafficking is set to appear in the George Magistrate’s Court in the Southern Cape. She was nabbed by the Hawks after a tip-off that three young girls had been trafficked in a shipping container from West Africa to South Africa.
Hawks’ spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Siyabulela Vukubi says they were allegedly given fake passports. The girls were advertised on an escort website and held at a residential complex. Four women between the ages of 21 and 47 were found during the search and taken to a place of safety.
