The Western Cape High Court has set aside two days next month to hear an appeal by the three convicted kidnappers in the Joshlin Smith case.
Kelly Smith, Jacquen Appollis, and Steveno van Rhyn are challenging their life sentences for trafficking the missing Saldanha Bay girl.
Joshlin disappeared in February 2024 and has still not been found. The State argued that she was sold by her mother for just R20,000.
The National Prosecuting Authority says it will oppose the appeal; confident it will not succeed.
The public hearings come as police continue searching for Joshlin, who would now be eight years old. The appeal will be heard on August 12 and 13.
