Western Cape High Court Restrains The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSI) Over Cape Union Mart Claims

The Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) has been barred from linking Cape Union Mart, its brands, and chairperson, to the Israeli regime and its genocide in Gaza.

The order, handed down by the Western Cape High Court, found that the PSC respondents had failed to produce direct evidence in making the link. The full Bench of judges found that many of the “admitted utterances complained of, were presented as factual statements”.

However, the PSC had based its protests and campaign against Cape Union Mart on Krawitz’s use of his networks to raise funds for the Israeli entity through his association with pro-Israeli organisations.

In January 2024, the International Court of Justice (ICJ) found it plausible that the Israeli entity’s acts in besieged Gaza could amount to genocide.
