Western Cape Judge President John Hlophe heads back to court in his bid to have the misconduct findings against him set aside.

Hlophe was found to have tried to influence a pending corruption case against Jacob Zuma in 2008.

His lawyers have already abandoned his application to stop the National Assembly from starting impeachment proceedings against him.

He will remain in his position until a date can be set for his matter is scheduled in the North Gauteng High Court.

Meanwhile, National Assembly Speaker Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula has welcomed the abandonment of Western Cape Judge President John Hlophe’s urgent bid to halt his removal from office.
