US in Limbo over Troop Withdrawal from Afghanistan

The United States has 2,500 troops in Afghanistan, and President Joe Biden needs to decide whether to withdraw them. The US has been occupying Afghanistan for 20 years, and an agreement that President Trump signed with the Taliban calls for all US troops to leave the country by May 1. In turn, the Taliban pledged to dissociate themselves from terrorist groups such as al-Qaida and to refrain from attacking civilians.
