The Imam Abdullah Haron Inquest is not about revenge.

The anti-apartheid activist’s daughter Fatima Haron-Masoet explains that if one wants peace there must be justice. She adds that the truth must be unearthed.

The Imam had at least 26 bruises and a broken rib. Injuries the apartheid regime said the 45-year-old Imam sustained when he fell from a flight of stairs on September 19, 1969. This has been rejected by the Haron family.

The Muslim scholar who confronted the white-supremacist regime was incarcerated and placed in solitary confinement by the apartheid police force. The family was informed that he died on September 27, 1969.
