Three people have been shot and killed in KTC informal settlement in Gugulethu. Western Cape police say officers were called to Z Memani Road shortly after nine o’clock this morning. At the scene, members discovered the bodies of three men.
Police spokesperson Colonel André Traut says all three victims had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to their upper bodies and heads. They were declared dead at the scene by medical personnel. Preliminary information suggests the men may have been involved in an altercation with unknown suspects.
The motive for the shooting and the exact circumstances surrounding the incident remain under investigation. This incident comes less than two days after another triple murder in Lingelethu West, Khayelitsha. In that case, three men were killed and a fourth wounded in a shooting inside an informal dwelling on Sunday night.
