The “C-word” corruption has pervaded this country for decades, yet it has become synonymous with the governing party. The ANC is dealing with internal problems as it’s members are being charged with fraud and corruption, which is a considerable distraction from trying to govern a country. But this country, and several others, have been built on this illegal practice.

Just how far does the rot go, and was there a chance for South Africa to address it at the advent of democracy? Professor of Political Studies at the University of Johannesburg, Steven Friedman joins us now…
