School Dropout Rate Triples Amid Pandemic

Now that schools have reopened at full capacity, fewer learners have returned to the classroom.

According to data published by researchers involved in the NIDS-CRAM survey, an extra half a million learners have dropped out of school since the start of the pandemic.

Rural areas and those hard hit by the economic challenges brought by the pandemic have seen the most dropouts. How can this be addressed, and how can parents or guardians make sure that their child doesn’t become a statistic?
