One killed and three wounded in Cape Flats shootings

At least three people including a 16-year-old have been shot and wounded in the ongoing gang war in Manenberg.

In the first incident three attackers opened fire on two men in a black motor vehicle in Pecos Walk. The pair were taken to Heideveld hospital for treatment.

Three hours later a teenage boy was struck by a stray bullet while cutting hair. According to local police the bullet penetrated the kitchen window and struck the youngster in the head.

No arrests have yet been made in both incidents which took place on Tuesday night.

Police are investigating cases of attempted murder.

Meanwhile, a 17-year-old boy has been shot and killed in Hanover Park. He was reportedly seeing his mother off before she left for work.

According to the victim’s brother, two suspects approached the teen in Halman Walk, and opened fire. He sustained gunshots to his neck and body. The teen was taken by private vehicle to hospital where he later died.

The Cape Flats has been locked in gang war which has left communities traumatised.
