No return of total ban on alcohol sales – alcohol industry

The alcohol industry has come out in support with law enforcement when it comes to businesses that don’t comply with the Covid-19 protocols. The industry says it doesn’t want a rturn of the total ban on alcohol sales and has strongly urged businesses to comply with the regulations.

Chairperson of the South African Brandowners Association Sibani Mngadi has welcomed the efforts made by the police to investigate outlets that aren’t complying with the lockdown rules of trading hours, social distancing and the wearing of face masks.

The closure of taverns and shebeens resulted in a significant loss of income for a lot of people across South Africa, particularly in poorer areas.
