A 37-year old man has been arrested following a high-speed chase long Potsdam Road.

During a stop and search operation, traffic officials pulled over a white VW Polo and noticed a suspicious red bag under the passenger seat. When officials asked the driver to step outside his vehicle he sped off.

Officials later caught up with the suspect only to find 12 pistols with serial numbers filed off. 

The suspect was detained at Table View Police Station. The matter has been handed over to the police for further investigation.
