Muslim families battle soaring inflation during Ramadaan

Global interest rates have soared, leaving thousands of Muslim families unable to afford the basic food basket or to enjoy the Ramadaan traditions they could in previous years.

Muslim countries especially in Asia have been the hardest hit, with that trickling down to South Africa as well.

International aid organisations have reported an increase in demand for assistance, because families simply cannot afford to put food on the table. How is this situation playing out in the ground in South Africa?
