Ministers will no longer have any role in government’s tender process.

This was one of the recommendations by President Cyril Ramaphosa in response to the State Capture Commission report.

Ramaphosa noted that this time, the procurement processes will be different. The president says government is taking the recommendations of the report seriously.

He adds that all ministers, including himself and Deputy President David Mabuza will be subjected to lifestyle audits.

Meanwhile, the DA has weighed in noting that President Cyril Ramaphosa’s leadership is showing major cracks.

DA Chief Whip Siviwe Gwarube says that last night’s address showed that South Africa has a president that is more concerned about his political party and its members, than the future of South Africans.
