IN PICTURES: Capetonians stand up against France

Hanover Park residents have denounced the attacks on Islam in France. Under the banner of Moms Who Care a picket was staged condemning the blasphemous caricatures of Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). They held posters reading “Our Prophet Muhammad Our Honour” and “he brought justice, love and guidance”.

Over the past week there have been a widespread protest against the rise in Islamaphobe especially in Europe. Some have called for a boycott of French products after President Emmanuel Macron defended the insulting cartoons under the guide of freedom of express and said that Islam is in crisis.

Leaders of Muslim majority countries have been called on to act collectively in countering the attacks on Islam.

An insult to Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him) is an insult to all Muslims. That’s the message picketers have left at the French consulate in Cape Town.

Muhammad Khalid Sayed, a member of the Western Cape Legislature who participated in the protest action says it was to express their opposition to the ugly attacks in France against the immaculate personality of our beloved Prophet Muhammad.
