A 14-year-old Livingston High School learner has been left traumatised after she was allegedly robbed of her cellphone in Leraar Street in Claremont.

According to police spokesperson Captain FC Van Wyk they received information that a White Nissan Sentra with three occupants had approached the learner and attempted to grab her phone. She resisted and a struggle ensued.

Van Wyk says at this stage no case has been opened.

Yesterday Livingston High School issued a letter to parents saying there was a near abduction outside its premises. It has asked learners to wait in front of the school and within the gates. It has also asked Claremont police to be visible during dismissal times.
