Hezbollah has claimed responsibility for mortar strikes from Lebanon into the Israeli occupied Shebaa Farms on Sunday morning.

It comes a day after a multi-entry incursion into occupied Palestinian lands by the Lebanese resistance movement. The coordinated and skilled execution of the operation targeted and destroyed Israeli military posts, as well as having killed several occupation soldiers. Hezbollah’s fighters captured several occupation soldiers, most notably, an Israeli commander.

Hezbollah Units of Martyred Commander Imad Mughniyeh hit three Israeli posts in occupied Shebaa Farms

“On the path to liberate the remaining part of our occupied Lebanese land and in solidarity with the victorious Palestinian resistance and the steadfast Palestinian people, the groups of the martyr commander Hajj Imad Moghniyeh in the Islamic Resistance carried out an attack this Sunday, October 08, 2023, targeting 3 Zionist occupation sites in the occupied Lebanese Shebaa Farms region,” the statement, carried by Al-Manar, read.

The three sites: Radar, Zibdin and Ruweissat Al-Alam. The sites came under fire from artillery shells and guided missiles.

Israel returned fire also firing artillery strikes.

 A new front?

It is no secret that the resistance factions in Palestine, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria and Yemen are all aligned in the common goal of liberating Al Quds from Israeli occupation.

Lebanese based journalist, Mariam Saleh said Operation Al Aqsa Flood is something that the Lebanese have dreamed of. In an interview with Radio 786, Saleh noted that the Palestinians are taking back their land from the Israeli occupation.

The veteran journalist said the Hamas-led operation is not just an issue of Gaza, but that the Palestinians are showing a unified resistance against the Zionist regime, underscoring that this is a battle for retrieving all of Palestine.

As only time can reveal how events may unfold, Saleh notes that while victory is imminent, it will take some time to come to fruition.

She however remains adamant that this operation is just one step in the demise of the Israeli occupation of Palestine.

Taunting the Israeli propaganda machinery, Saleh highlights that the impossible has become possible and Operation Al Aqsa Flood has revealed that the Spider’s Web has been weakened even further.

For Saleh, returning to a liberated Al Aqsa is a political truth.
