Four men have been sentenced after stealing R 25 million in a cash in transit heist in Gauteng.

Three of the convicts were employed by SBV logistics.

The North Gauteng High Court sentenced the men to 30 years in jail.

Another suspect, who was out on bail failed to appear before the court, and a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

This as another suspect in the case had turned state witness.

The court heard how Henrico Fourie, who was a head of department at SBV logistics had recruited and conspired with two other employees to rob one of the cash vans.

They had made several attempts in the space of three weeks.

On the third attempt, they used a Mercedes Benz to ram into the SBV cash truck, opened fire, and used explosives to gain access to the money.
