A man has died and two women have been injured in a fire at a house in Gatesville.

The City’s Fire and Rescue Service said it was called to the scene of the blaze in Shaanti Crescent this morning.

Spokesperson, Jermaine Carelse says that the women were taken for medical treatment before fire services arrived, but the man had suffered fatal burn wounds and was declared deceased by medical personnel.

The cause of the blaze is under investigation.
