Former chief justice Raymond Zondo has expressed concern that the Hawks are not as effective as the Scorpions in probing corruption allegations. That statement was especially concerning as the integrity of the security cluster, including the police, is under scrutiny.
A Judicial Commission Inquiry has since been set up to probe these allegations. Claims have also been made against former Hawks head, Lieutenant-General Godfrey Lebeya’s conduct.
Radio 786’s NRA spoke to Lebeya on the allegations of corruption and its impact on the integrity on law enforcement.
