The DA has taken a knock in Cape Town as new parties make inroads.
According to the municipal election results the DA recorded a nearly 9% drop in support. The party which still holds the majority with 58.2 % lost 19 seats compared to the previous polls.
The ANC also saw a decline. It has 14 less seats in council.
However the EFF has seen minor increases. It now has ten seats.
New kids on the block Good secured nine seats followed by the Cape Coloured Congress (CCC) with seven seats.
