Claremont Remembers Diverse Past

SHARE

The diverse history and culture of Claremont and Newlands have been highlighted through a “Walk of Remembrance”.

Hosted by the Claremont Main Road Mosque and the St Saviour’s Anglican Church, participants walked through the streets of an area that had been stolen during Apartheid.

St Saviour’s Anglican Church Reverend Chesnay Frantz told the Weekend Argus that the walk helped participants to remember the history of pain and loss of local communities of colour who were forcibly removed from this area.
