The two children who were injured when they fell out of a dislodged Golden Arrow bus window, are in a stable condition in hospital.

The incident occurred in Factreton this morning, on a bus that was travelling from Khayelitsha.

Golden Arrow’s spokesperson Bronwen Dyke-Beyer says that after reviewing the footage, she could confirm that the window was clearly marked as an emergency exit window, which is required by legislation to give way when force is applied.

She has also dismissed claims that the bus was overcrowded.

Dyke-Beyer says that the vehicle was at less than 40% capacity at the time of the incident.

The footage shows that some of the learners were playing rowdily on the bus.
