The ANC has suspended uMkhonto we Sizwe Military Veterans Association (MKMVA’s) spokesperson Carl Niehaus with immediate effect.

During the ANC’s National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Monday, it noted that Niehaus’ inflammatory speeches while dressed in ANC regalia outside Nkandla at the weekend had brought the organisation into disrepute.

Niehaus is both a close ally of former President Jacob Zuma, and suspended ANC Secretary-General Ace Magashule. During his speeches, Niehaus said that should Zuma be arrested, it would bring instability to the country.
