Bone Marrow Registry Celebrates 30 Years

SHARE

The bone marrow registry celebrates its 30-year anniversary in September.

It aims to use this as an opportunity to raise awareness about the importance of bone marrow donation and how it has changed the lives of so many thousands of recipients over the years.

An estimated 4000 new cases of blood disorders such as leukaemia and lymphoma occur in South Africa each year, requiring patients to undergo a bone marrow transplant, or more commonly known as a stem cell transplant.

Guest: Dr Charlotte Ingram – CEO, SA Bone Marrow Registry
