The Health Professions Council of South (HPCSA) has identified 18 bogus doctors since the beginning of the year. Ten men and eight women, with Gauteng having the most bogus doctors and, 10 of these doctors were foreign nationals.

The HPCSA says some of the doctors were operating from the surgeries of qualified and registered doctors. These doctors were charged and arrested. They will also face disciplinary action for having unregistered health professionals working in their surgeries.
