The African National Congress (ANC) is a party with a vision separated from the reality of the country they govern.

This criticism from political commentator, Khaya Sithole comes at the ANC heads into its policy conference which will inform the party’s plans for the organisation and the country for the next five years.

Sithole says that judging from the policy resolutions passed in 2017, there has been little to no movement.

He contends that this essentially renders the policy conference process useless as the ANC is handicapped by a vision that cannot address the root causes of the problems it is trying to fix.

Sithole says that this is evident in the ANC’s reactive stimulus approach that wants to take over anything that the party deems is not working.
