ActionSA is hoping to make a breakthrough in Cape Town’s local government elections, with the party contesting for seats in the metro for the very first time.
Its mayoral candidate, Dereleen James, believes the party can secure at least 15 council seats and potentially play a key role in the city’s future political landscape.
Among ActionSA’s election promises is a proposal to make MyCiTi bus travel free on weekdays for residents, funded through a tourism levy. James has also placed the cost of living, crime, substance abuse and housing affordability at the centre of her campaign.
