Long-Covid; a New Side Effect

Patients who have recovered from Covid-19 may still experience some of the symptoms.

While this may sound like a contradiction, Professor Emeritus in Critical Care at Wits University, Guy Richards has confirmed that this has occurred.

One of the other peculiar aspect of the Long-Covid, is that medical tests can’t determine why recovered patients are still experiencing the symptoms.

Professor Richards says that people who were hospitalised and ventilated have since developed lung abnormalities.

This as others experience the symptoms while having fully recovered. Professor Richards says that this is still mystifying doctors:

“When you do tests to assess actual disability; it’s actually difficult to determine. It’s also difficult to determine why those occur.”

Some of the symptoms of the Long-Covid include shortness of breath and fatigue.
