Several flights to Cape Town International Airport have been diverted to OR Tambo International Airport and other cities, as a second cold front continues to lash the Western Cape.
Despite airport operations remaining open, passengers are experiencing delays and cancellations as dangerous weather conditions force pilots to abort landings and reroute flights for safety.
Cape Town International Airport Spokesperson Debi Shepherd says Johannesburg remains the primary diversion hub, while other flights have been redirected to Gqeberha and Bloemfontein.
Domestic carriers are among the hardest hit by the ongoing disruptions.
