Three children and a teenager have been shot and injured in an attack in Amandel Street in Bonteheuwel.
According to police spokesperson, Brigadier Novela Potelwa, two attackers got out of a vehicle and opened fire at a group of people standing outside a shop on Tuesday evening. Those hit in the mass shooting are aged 10, 11, 12 and 16 years old.
In a separate incident, a 30-year-old man was shot in the back by a gunman in a moving vehicle.
Police spokesperson, Brigadier Novela Potelwa said “Western Cape Anti-Gang Unit detectives are investigating two shooting incidents that left five people injured, including children. The incidents are believed to be related to gang violence. No arrests have yet been made. Investigations continue.”
