As of next year, traditional tour operators will no longer facilitate hajj or umrah; instead, services will be contracted directly with Saudi providers.
This was revealed by the South African Hajj and Umrah Council (SAHUC). It has further revealed that accommodation, transport, and logistics for pilgrims will be managed via the Nusuk Masar platform under Saudi oversight.
SAHUC says that it’s reorganising its operations to align with the new framework and ensure a smooth transition for South African pilgrims.
It says that internal capacity is being expanded, and stakeholder engagement is underway. Pilgrims are assured of a dignified and spiritually fulfilling experience under the new system.
