President Cyril Ramaphosa visits Washington to iron out Pretoria’s polices with US President Donald Trump

South Africa’s visit to the United States this week will have to deal with the agriculture deals between the two.

Senior Researcher at the International Labour Research and Information Group (ILRIG), Shawn Hattingh notes that Agriculture Minister John Steenhuisen will be walking the tightrope in this regard.

The Minister, who also serves as the leader of the Democratic Alliance, also has to consider his white constituents, who have opposed the Expropriation Act.

DA members have also visited the US this year in an attempt to sway that country to its views on South Africa’s legislation.
