The North Gauteng High Court has dismissed the Democratic Alliance’s bid to appeal its earlier ruling on cadre deployment.

The court found the DA’s application had no reasonable prospects of success. The opposition party argued that the policy undermines service delivery, but the court ruled the DA failed to identify specific unconstitutional aspects of the policy.

The party insisted its attack was on the policy as a whole, but the court disagreed. It also rejected the DA’s claim that the policy fosters corruption.

The DA cited constitutional provisions against political interference, but the court emphasized cadre deployment is not a government policy.

It ruled that no public service official had applied it when making appointments. The ANC’s cadre deployment policy remains unaffected. The DA is yet to announce its next steps.
