A bomb threat has been made against Al-Azhar Masjied in District Six.

That’s according to the mosque’s executive committee member, Baadier Gamieldien.

Gamieldien said that they received a threatening message to “bomb the place of worship and cause death to their people”.

He noted that the respective committees of the mosque and madrassa have taken the necessary precautionary measures to tighten security and stressed that the safety of all worshippers is a top priority for them.
