A shake up is expected at Eskom’s board this week.
Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan says that changes are imminent.
His announcement comes as there has been a growing call for drastic changes to be effected at the power utility.
The country is experiencing several weeks of load shedding, which is expected to conclude this Thursday.
The Eskom board is already dealing with several challenges.
Of the 13 non-executive directors, seven have resigned.
The remaining directors, whose term began in 2018, have appealed to Minister Gordhan for several years to fill the vacancies on the board.
It is critically short of specific skills, especially in engineering and the electricity supply industry.
