76.4% pass rate for matric class 2021

The 2021 matric class has scored a pass rate of 76.4%. A 0.2% increase from the previous year.

Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga says the 2021 matric learners were the most affected by Covid-19 as they had to endure two years of the pandemic.

At least 256,031 learners attained Bachelor passes. It’s improvement of 21.4% from 2020. According to Motshekga it’s the highest number of Bachelor passes attained in the entire history of the National Senior Certificate (NSC) exams
