The first aid convoy has crossed into the besieged Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing. A minute amount of aid which includes medicine, medical equipment, and food is being allowed in. Gaza’s government media office has made it clear that the Rafah crossing must be permanently open so that all essential supplies can reach the people who have been under a nearly 17-year-old blockade.
