Nineteen suspects have arrested in Kraaifontein in separate incidents. In the first, police acted on a tip-off that a wanted murder suspect was hiding at a residence in the area. The 19-year-old suspect was found sleeping in a house in Patricia Street. During his arrest, police also found 1000 mandrax tablets to the value of R40 000.
He was arrested for murder and dealing in drugs and is set to appear in the Blue Downs Magistrate Court.
In the second, 13 males aged 17 – 41 were nabbed for contravening the Disaster Management Act. Five females aged 26 – 48 were also arrested in the same incident. Police have issued a stern warning to criminals to not break the law during the festive season.
