The Western Cape government is being accused of only being concerned with the problems of the rich.

This is the charge from the South African Communist Party in the province.

They participated in Cosatu’s national demonstration calling for an end to corruption and the protection of workers’ rights.

Meanwhile, labour federation, Cosatu’s Deputy Parliamentary Office Coordinator, Tony Ehrenreich, says that government must defuse the ticking time bombs of unemployment, rising inflation, load shedding and crime.

This as it’s been 29 years of South Africa’s democratic dispensation, yet it remains one of the world’s most unequal societies.
