Venezuela claims its antiviral decimates Covid-19

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro announced that local scientists have designed a highly effective antiviral that decimates Covid-19 without causing any side effects.

The drug is set to undergo certification by the World Health Organisation (WHO). The antiviral was designed by the Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research (IVIC), which had been working on a cure for the novel virus for the past six months.

Maduro explains that the so-called remedy is based on a molecule called TR-10. It isolates and when put against another virus proves its absolute effectiveness. He adds that the study has already been reviewed by experts and scientists.

“The molecule will be mass-produced and delivered worldwide for the cure of Covid-19,” according to Maduro.

Ursolic acid is sold in the U.S. as a dietary supplement with reputed anti-inflammatory properties.

The final stage is for the antiviral to get certified by the WHO.
