Two Cape Town Beaches Closed Due To Sewage Spill

Two beaches have been closed in Cape Town due to a collapsed collector sewer that spilled into the beach.

Maiden’s Cove and Glen Beach in Camps Bay are the latest public spaces to close. It follows the recent closures of Zeekoevlei, Rietvlei, and Zandvlei also due to sewage spills.

Various City of Cape Town departments were activated and retrieved samples of the water to determine whether it is a risk to the public.
