The identity crisis within the Democratic Alliance continues to plague the party.

Political analyst, Professor Bheki Mngomezulu says that there are two DAs; made up of conservative and progressive groupings.

He says that this has hindered its ability to grow, and find a stronger foothold in the national political arena. Mngomezulu was speaking as a regional battle is looming in the DA. This as Mayor Dan Plato, and Alderman Grant Twigg are going head to head to take the title of metro regional chairperson of the Democratic Alliance.

The matter has already seen some fireworks as a political ally of Twigg faces a motion of no-confidence, said to have been approved by Plato.
