Sentencing has been delayed in the murder of eight-year-old Tazne van Wyk.

Mohydien Pangaker has been convicted on 21 out of 27 charges against him.

Some of these relate other cases.

Tazne’s mother has reportedly told Elsies River Community Policing Forum’s Gender Based Violence desk, Salomi Pienaar, that the case needs to conclude so that her life can begin.

Pienaar says that she is well acquainted with the van Wyk and Pangaker family members.

She has told Radio 786 that there was no indication that Pangaker would go on to perpetrate such heinous crimes.
