One of the main suspects involved in President Cyril Ramaphosa’s Phala Phala farm robbery has links to a Cape Town gang.

This is according to Namibian journalist Shelleygan Petersen, an investigative journalist for The Namibian newspaper. Petersen says no Namibian authorities are probing the theft, despite it being known that the suspects fled there and spent the stolen money on luxury items such as cars and improvements to a small guest house.

President Ramaphosa made headlines over the past two weeks for concealing the theft of $4 million in cash from his game farm in Limpopo.

South African politicians have questioned the president’s motives for not making the robbery public knowledge, and why it only came to the fore two years after it happened.
