The highly contested municipal elections resulted in many glitches that took place on voting day.

Radio 786 reporters on the ground witnessed many mishaps at polling stations that were flooded, understaffed, and under-resourced.

The bad weather also played a role in the frustration experienced by people standing in long queues in some areas.

The Independent Electoral Commission has been brought to book to take accountability of their poor handling of voting in some areas.
