Former Eskom CEO Andre de Ruyter never alerted the Special Investigating Unit (SIU) to the allegations of corruption at Eskom.

Members of Parliament (MPs) did not hold back in grilling law enforcement agencies about de Ruyter’s corruption claims. Head of the SIU Advocate Andy Mothibi says the SIU has not seen the Eskom Intelligence report.

Mothibi added that he did request a copy of the report from Eskom officials but was told that the power utility is not in the possession of it.

The National Police Commissioner Fannie Masemola also affirmed that de Ruyter never reported the alleged involvement of a politician in Eskom corruption during their meetings with him.

Masemola says police are not investigating any politicians as they probe corruption at Eskom.

It comes as SCOPA is trying to get to the bottom of allegations made about high level politicians allegedly being involved in corruption at the utility.
